Sam North to Become New Managing Shareholder
(Kirkland, WA) Sweeney Conrad, PS, an award-winning Eastside accounting firm, has announced that they will begin a transition in leadership on November 1, 2021, after the close of their current fiscal year. Sam North, CPA will succeed John Forrest, CPA, who has acted as President and Managing Shareholder at Sweeney Conrad since October 1, 2014.
“We are excited about this transition,” says John Forrest. “Sam has played an integral role in building our international tax practice, implementing and building our 'people first' culture, and providing exceptional client service and nurturing our young professionals from associate forward.”
After serving in the Navy, Sam completed his Bachelor’s at the University of Utah, and got his MBA at Seattle University. He began his career at Sweeney Conrad as a tax associate in 2008 and was named a shareholder in October of 2015.
In addition to his new role, Sam will continue to provide tax compliance and consulting services to closely held businesses and their owners, including but not limited to international tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, planning for inter-generational family wealth transfer, and high net worth family office services. Following November 1, John will continue to serve as a shareholder at Sweeney Conrad, providing tax services and support to Sam in his new role. Under John’s leadership, in 2016 Sweeney Conrad was named the #1 Mid-sized Firm to Work For in the U.S. He played an integral role in growing the firm from 60 to nearly 100 employees, providing an expansive level of expertise while maintaining the exceptional relationships and personal service Sweeney Conrad clients expect. He oversaw a complete brand overhaul in 2016, and the launch of Sweeney Conrad’s Client Accounting Services department in 2019.
