Housing Connector does the important work of bringing private property owners and landlords together with people most in need of housing. They are passionate about finding the right fit for unhoused populations by connecting them with vacancies in housing communities in the area.
To do this, the organization advocates for potential tenants by reducing uncertainty for property owners and managers. Often times, managers and landlords have misconceptions of potential tenants based on previous negative experiences. Housing Connecter works with tenants to ensure that they have support networks to help them be good neighbors. They also provide a point of content in the event that there isn't a good fit between the tenant and the property.
We were inspired by Housing Connector's work, especially by story of Charlie Spencer of Redmond, WA. Charlie struggled to maintain housing despite early success in his career, even playing for the Harlem Globetrotters for over a year. Unfortunately due to injury and difficult circumstances, Charlie was unable to stay housed. With the help of Housing Connector, Charlie finally sees a brighter future ahead. You can read more about Charlie's story at King 5 here.
By offering support services, guaranteed rent and damage mitigation, and 2 years of support, Housing Connector is able to help people like Charlie every day to find that brighter future themselves.
At Sweeney Conrad, we were so happy to learn more about this fantastic organization, and we look forward to working with them in the future. You can learn how to get involved with Housing Connecter at their website here.
